Carol Banks

Biography

I am born and bred in Yorkshire, but have also lived a number of years in Australia. I am blessed with having a wonderful husband, two lovely daughters and beautiful grandchildren, all of whom are the light of my life.

Over the years I produced a few paintings but, like experienced by most, life kept me busy in other directions and it is only since late 2018 that I took the decision to focus on developing my abilities as an artist.

I love painting the natural beauty that surrounds us and particularly love to try and capture the play of light on a scene. I mainly work in oils but also like other mediums such as cold wax, acrylic, pastel, and encaustic.

The process of painting gives me a great deal of joy and I think it is inevitable that artists get a little attached to every piece. It is my hope that some of that joy is passed on to someone as yet unknown.
